Lavender is a herbaceous plant in the mint family, which has 2,500 years of recorded use. It originates in the Mediterranean area. It is the most popular scent, accepted by both men and women. It is used extensively in bath, beauty and cleaning products. Lavender has been used in cooking for ages and recently more and more culinary uses and recipes have been developed. Here we will feature all the uses of lavender.
 

Culinary Recipes

 

Three ways to use Lavender in cooking:


1.  Lavender Sugar

Leave lavender in sugar for

1 week, strain and use sugar in other recipes


2.  Lavender Infusion

Steep dried or fresh plant in water, oil or vinegar which you then use in another recipe

 

3.  Lavender as Dried Herb

Substitute in recipes where you would normally use herbs such as Rosemary or Thyme
